ORAL PRESENTATION
ARTEFACTS/ SOURCES
What is the ORAL PRESENTATION?
The Oral Presentation is a personal response to your topic or theme. It can take the form of drama, poetry or prose. Drama can take the form of a short skit that involves the other group members, but they must play flat, supportive roles with little to no dialogue. You, the student, must play the primary role. Drama can also entail a commercial, or a news report, which can take the form of a dramatic dialogue. The genre of poetry literally entails you writing a poem, which is based on your topic, and using information, obtained from your sources, for inspiration. Any poetic form can be used, from free verse to a dub poem. Finally, the prose option can take the form of a speech, report or a descriptive piece. Your presentation should be based on your topic, or group theme and should, primarily, be delivered in Standard English. Creole can be used, but it should be used for emphasis, not for the primary form of delivery. The Oral Presentation is graded on three things; fluency of delivery, the structure, comprehensibility and development of the topic, and language use and vocabulary, and should be 3 to 5 minutes in length.
