I believe so as well because he shows a kindred spirit beneath his outer facade that was molded by his hard life. It shows in his personality that he only steals when necessary and wishes to be loved as any child would. He wishes to be more than life has destined him to be. His true character is brought out in Kes but hopefully it did not come to an end as she did in the book. Will we ever know?
